Here's my 74 beetle. I picked this bug up along with a 68 Baja. I bought both for $1300. The Baja was the main reason i got the two of these but after i rolled my Baja. Now this is my pride and joy. It had a 1600cc motor in it but it turned out that the gearing that drives the distributor and the fuel pump was striped. so i use the motor at i salvaged out of my Baja and put it into it. It was a 1500cc single port, i ran that motor for a long while. Now i have a fresh built 1641 with duel Empi Kadrons, its got 041 heads light weight fly wheel, Counter weighted crank shaft, with forged rocker arm, Engal W-100 cam, Straight cut gears, remote filter and cooler. Its a screamer.Ive got about 3500$ into the motor at this point with how many times i've rebuilt or changed something on it. The bug is then going to under go a 2 1/2 inch drop with disk breaks up front. give it that sport rake to it. Rear sway bar should be in store for it shorty. Hope you all enjoy and let me know what you think,

Here new face lift painted the wheels black, took the running boards off and went bumperless!

Thank you for your comment ;) ... What is better than one Beetle? Even more *gg* I like to see, that there are more enthusiasts in the whole world! I think you know, that I like your paint job of the red one. To sad, that mine will appear in the original paint some day - but the engine tax in Germany require the changing. To pay less in the future the car has to be original again :( Your pictures of the 'car family' reminds me on Germany ;)

hey, Thanks for checking out my VW.
to answer your question.... I converted the front and rear bracket to 4x bolts so i could used the Disc brake kits.
At the time the car was built, the wide five front disc brake kit was $1200 + and the 4 Bolt kit was $450. So i decided to convert it.
