This page is here to show off my newest project, my 1964 Beetle. The last Bug I owned was a 1968. It was my first car, 15 years ago. I have been thinking about building another one for quite a while now and when the opportunity arose I jumped on it.

The car was in pretty good condition when I bought it. It needs some cosmetics fixed namely the front and rear aprons and a couple door dings but that will get fixed.

The drivetrain is what drew me to this car. It has a 2180cc engine w/:

Forged 82 crank, Ballanced h beam rods with 92mm forged and flycut pistons

Scat Mini D heads (40mm intake and 38mm exhaust) that have been ported beyond belief (I had to custom make my own intake and exhaust gaskets because no-one makes them big enough).

The intake manifolds have been port matched and welded to give them a bigger mounting flange.

The rockers are VW 1:25 ratio with Berg shafts and CB performance tapered pushrods along with CB performance windage pushrod tubes.

Dual 48mm delorto carbs

009 Distributor

External oil filter with braided steal lines

Mallory electric fuel pump with hard line to rear.

It also has a full race ready tranny with a heavy duty clutch, close ratio gears and a 456 final ratio.

Other mods include: adjustable front beam, lowered rear end, early taillights, rear brakes are type 3, front wheel lockouts for burnouts. The interior is in good condition. It has a full Scat custom light grey/black interior kit.

I have started going thru the car bit by bit replacing here and there. I removed the engine to clean it up a bit and replace all the gaskets. I also did it to see what all it had in it.

The build up will be documented here but I have no idea how long it will take me :P
