Afraid of breaking the stock axles I ran the monte with my old bias-ply tires so they would purposely spin off the line. Note: Numbers on car and time slips don`t match. These pictures were not taken the same day but around the same time frame. 13.14 at 106.3 Still taking it easy with the stock axles I managed mid 12`s. New transmission decided to die one month after the warranty expired. Had it rebuilt locally with the best of parts , should of sued original company because upon disassembly shop noted that it wasn`t built heavy duty. After installing new moser c-clip axles (will upgrade rearend even more later) it was time to purchase these 325-50-15 drag radials to replace the tire on the right. I also bought 255-60-15`s for the front. After carefully measuring for back-spacing I bought 4 new centerline rims. Perfect fit. Put in buckets seats to replace bench, also added a rachet shifter (used to be on the column) to aid in shifting. Back at the track with new wheels. Car is very consistent now. 12.06 at 112mph. Update...car is now running solid 11.80`s at 113.9 mph Here's my rear tire (325/50/15) on the left and my front tire (255/60/15) on the right side by side. Here's the same tires showing the width difference, both are wide tires. Here's my racing front tire (Pro Trac 27" tall) on the left and my street tire (255/60/15) on the right, showing width difference.
