ZZ502's 1972 Chevrolet Monte CarloAfraid of breaking the stock axles I ran the monte with my old bias-ply tires so they would purposely spin off the line.
ZZ502's 1972 Chevrolet Monte CarloNote: Numbers on car and time slips don`t match. These pictures were not taken the same day but around the same time frame. 13.14 at 106.3
ZZ502's 1972 Chevrolet Monte CarloStill taking it easy with the stock axles I managed mid 12`s. New transmission decided to die one month after the warranty expired. Had it rebuilt locally with the best of parts , should of sued original company because upon disassembly shop noted that it wasn`t built heavy duty.
ZZ502's 1972 Chevrolet Monte CarloAfter installing new moser c-clip axles (will upgrade rearend even more later) it was time to purchase these 325-50-15 drag radials to replace the tire on the right. I also bought 255-60-15`s for the front.

Perfect fit.
Put in buckets seats to replace bench, also added  a rachet shifter (used to be on the column) to aid in  shifting.                                                                    ZZ502's 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Hey man Nice Monte... One day I hope to build a monster somewhat like yours. I love the first Gen Monte's and I want one in the worst way... Nice Job and keep up the good work. Check out the cars I got at my house, let me know what you think.
