Tuning

From the Dynorad, before tuning on the dyno...
Maximum Horsepower (SAE Net)-
153 @ 3500 (my Saab currently)
135 @ 3,500 rpm (stock Saab)
Maximum Torque Range, ft/lbs.-
229 @ 3500 (my Saab currently)
160-172 @ 3500 rpm (stock Saab)

Drag data from the Dynorad:

jackmaker's 1984 Saab 900 Up North, CA Customized with Volk Racing Wheels, JE Pistons Engine Comps., Custom Exhaust, Custom Header, Custom Intake, MSD Ignition, Custom Transmission, Bilstein Shocks, Hurst Shift Knob, Auto Meter Gauges, MOMO Steering Wheel, Custom Brakes, Pirelli Tires, Custom Body Kit, Custom Seats - 10

Then I baselined the car and the Dynorad by getting on a local shop dyno. Here are the results. Shop dyno on the left and Dynorad on the right.

Max HP in 3rd gear:
Dynorad - 242hp
Dynojet - 151hp
Max Torque in 3rd gear:
Dynorad - 256 ft-lbs
Dynojet - 170 ft-lbs

The Dynorad tracks the shop dyno pretty well, although with a significant offset. Since I was running on a steel drum, rather than down the street, the offset could be a combination of missing drag and transmission losses. One thing missing from the Dynorad data is the Air/Fuel ratio, which would really be nice.

I retarded the timing a couple degrees for runs 4 & 5 and picked up about 20hp. There's some weird things going on in the A/F ratio. It's running real lean and then runs pretty rich. Hmmm, more to do.

OK. I know what the difference is now. The "mass factor" was set to 23 in the Dynorad. That's correct for a 1st gear pull, but I was in 3rd. When I changed it to 7, then the results were much more alike. I'll post an updated chart when I get a chance.
