XM Satellite Radio
The truck is prewired for Satellite Radio so I have installed the "OEM Satellite Radio Receiver" from Grubbs Performance in Dallas, Texas. ($219.99)
The factory Satellite antenna is a really fugly glass mount so I decided to go with the XM Micro Satellite Antenna Kit ($39.95) also from Grubbs. I mounted this on the roof right in front of the bed light with the wire running into the bed light housing and into the receiver along the drivers side. I did not need to do any modifications to the bed light! If you do this yourself, remove the drivers side back seat and seat belt. It will make installing the wire MUCH easier.
Racing Stripes
I am thinking about white racing stripes down the center of the truck. I measured the width of the grill at the hood and I think that by using 8x8 inch stripes (with pin stripes) and a 2 inch center gap, it will fit the design of the truck nicely. I am going to order these from eDecals (Universal Dual Racing Stripe Kit w/pinstripe RSS906). The web site recommends 300 inches long.
Grille Guard
I am looking at the Westin Automotive "3 Inch Ultimate Bull Bar" in Black Powdercoat. Since the side steps are black from the factory and the LE model has painted bumper covers, the black will look nice up front.
Tonneau Cover
I am still up in the air on whether it would be better to have a soft cover or a hard cover. I am leaning toward the Gaylord Traditional Series hard cover. The Gaylord company can paint match the cover to the factory color so it would look really sweet. Plus, they have hardware that mounts the cover to the existing bed rails so that sounds like an easy installation.
Custom Dash
The overall look of the dashboard is very plasticy. I am thinking about getting a flat overlay dash kit from Wood Dash Experts, Inc. in "Real Brushed Aluminum". The steering wheel has a brushed aluminum finish around the center so I think that using this type of kit will really look stylin'!. See this photo for an idea on what it will look like.
