Last summer I was wheeling with some friends and there was this huge lake, or whatever the hell you would call it. Anyway, I was driving along the edge maybe up to my lugs when all of a sudden it dropped off like a shelf. The result is what you see in the pictures. As you can see, the snorkel didn't do much good! So we got it pulled out soon enough and for prob the next 5 mins water is pouring out of the thing. Trunk, doors, everywhere. We pop the hood and take a look at the airfilter. Soaked. I disconnect the snorkel from the airbox and let the tube drain out. Check out the throttle body and it is actually pretty dry. Luckily I had a socket that fit the spark plugs so I pulled them all out and turns out only the #6 cylinder had water in it. Ran the starter a while to get most of it out. Meanwhile, my friends are off to a pepboys or whatever to pick up 6 new plugs, new airfilter, and new oil and oil filter. Took a while for them to get back, but once we had the parts I had the new plugs in, air filter and oil changed within 30 minutes. Moment of truth! I hop in and turn the key and it is ALIVE!! runs a bit rough at first but it smooths out. I continued wheeling after that and drove it home afterwards. Man these things are close to indestructible. Unfortunately my stereo, cell phone and TomTom GPS did not make it, but everything that really matters is fine. That and it smells like a lake now. Oh well.
