The Scoupe
This is by no means a great car. However, it's a perfect winter beater. What does that mean? Well this is the type of car which can handle punishment in the form of ditches, stumps and most importantly salt.
Winter Beater Update March 23, 2006
So the Scoupe hasn't been the most reliable auto on any of the local roadways. Since mid-December minor to severely minor problems have occured. It's difficult to select the top 1 as 2 seem to tie. Here's an overall breakdown of the Scoupe's breakdowns:
1. I'd say at least 4 spin-outs with no damage worth mentioning
2. Engine seal lets go in a blue bang:
time in garage: 1 1/2 weeks
cost: $120.00 CDN
3. Engine bonnet failure while traveling 90 kmph. This was exciting. Thank GMChrysler I know my roads.
time in garage: 0 days
cost: 0$
days driven to work with no hood: 1 day
co-workers impressed: 3
4. Front brake failure. Pretty common i guess. Happy the scoupe's a 5 speed and there's few buses on my drive to work...silly children
time in garage: 2 days
cost: $90.00 CDN
stoppage power: way better than before
5. This tops the list, even better than the engine bonnet. Left front ball-joint failure at 80 kmph. For those way more winter beater fortunate, ball-joint failure results in the wheel detaching at speed and then doing whatever. In the scoupe's situation, lodging sideways into the fender.
time in garbage: 2 days
cost: $60.00
# people who stopped and asked what happened: 3 cars
basketball refing missed: 0 games
Other facts about this particular car are:
Second front end (First destroyed in accident by older brother)
Second engine (First destroyed by hatred of vehicle by older brother
5 mostly functionable forward gears
A super tricky reverse gear to find
Turbo embroidered on the seats
Check out the Scoupe in all of it's awesomeness:
