1980 L-82 Corvette
This black on black beauty was found hidden in a garage in Pearland Texas last year (2005). The owner had pretty much already redone most of the major problems.
Most everything under the hood was new or rebuilt.
The seats were recently recovered and the rest of the interior was in great shape.
Dropped in a nice Clarion Stereo with new Infinity speakers all the way around in the stock locations, Polk 8" woofer in the rear passenger side cargo box and a Crunch amp to add a little power.
Once we actually started clocking miles with her, it did not take long to realize her ass end (rear suspension) was weak and out of shape. So she was sent to Marshal at Island Transmissions in Galveston, TX. Marshal is a Corvette Guru in these parts and completely rebuilt the rear suspension. That along with 4 new Firestone Firehawk (yes, Firestone!) tires and a 4 wheel alignment and she was driving straight as an arrow. We love this car!
Unfortunately, some young kid did not show her the same respect. On the way home from Sonic (hence the fruit slush on the dash and floor) he decided to turn across my lane with me in it!
After a long fight with that good for nothing Farmers Insurance, she is now having cosmetic surgery at Aurturos Corvette Specialist in Texas City. We can rebuild her, we have the technology. She will look twenty years younger when she comes home.
