Thanks for checking out my "91 Camaro RS Page"!
This is one I picked up about 2 1/2 years ago for $1600.00
It was one of those deals where the person had two cars, but needed to sell one to pay off the other. Well, she needed exactly 1,600 bucks to pay off her truck before the Repo man came.
It was in very good condition and had many new parts replaced before I got it, things like: the battery, alternator, water pump, brakes, tires, and a recent tune up(complete shop tune)! The receipts for all these things totaled almost as much as I paid for the car. Actually it was a steal, considering they came to around $1200.00
Here it is after everything that I did to it. I'd say it cost me about $800.00 to do EVERYTHING!
Ok, these first three pics show it when it still had the chipped and cracked fiberglass Z28 hood on it. If you could have seen the car when I bought it, you'd get a better understanding of why she didn't try to get more for it. She lived down a long dirt road and parked it under fir trees. She also owned horses, so there were pine needles and Hay everywhere, not to mention more dust than I've ever seen!
I forgot to mention that it also had a set of chrome truck wheels on it. You know, the kind that look like Weld Draglites, only they're chrome and mostly seen on trucks.
So when it came to replacing the wheels, I had always liked the 91-92 16x8 stock wheels, and the other thing is, I was able to get these for $275.00 with the tires on them.
A buddy of mine owed me some money and couldn't pay up, so I took his 91-92 Z28 rear wing. I had always liked the look of them on these cars, so I decided I would try and mount it on mine.(next)
It wasn't a very easy task, but I was able to pull it off just the same. When I removed the stock 3pc spoiler, I realized that all the holes holding it on would have to be welded up. Thinking about the cost and everything that would be involved, I decided against that option.(next picture)
Before I put it back on though, I went ahead and mounted the new one with some hardware I picked up at Home-Depot. After it was on, I had to measure and cut u-shaped slots in the front of the stock one, so that it would fit all the way back up to the edge of the decklid where it was originally mounted. I realize now, that I should have taken some pictures of it as I did it. Oh well, just know that it wasn't mounted in front of the stock one, regardless of what it might look like in the pictures.
Here it is after it was painted and mounted.
