I got tired of my 240SX sitting in the back of that garage so I bid and won this RWD Japanese SR20DE engine off e-bay the other day. Sure, it's not a SR20DET and it doesn't have turbo but it will get my car back on the road until I can upgrade to an actual SR20DET. Besides that it is an SR20 and it is JDM.SR20DE. It's dirty and needs a lot of prep work but overall a good engine! SR20DE intake manifold. Gonna swap this out for the GReddy intake manifold! The prep work begins! With the exception of the exhaust manifold, dip stick tube and the motor mount brackets I have removed all the parts on the right side of the engine. I'm going to clean all the removed parts separately and replace the old hoses with new vaccuum silicon hoses and clamps. I will replace the dip stick and dip stick tube completely. As for the right side of the engine, I'm going to spray it down with engine cleaner and WD-40 to loosen the grime and scrub it down with a brush to remove it. After that I will paint it with a metallic heat resistant engine enamel to make it look like new. I also need to replace the broken distributor cap. Then its on the front and the left side of the engine. I'm having trouble getting the grime out of the corners and the crevices. I'm going to either buy a new header or paint the old one and wrap it with header wrap. The heat shield will need to be painted also! Cams!!!SR20DE SR20DE SR20DE-cleaned and painted.
