Track Stuff!

Well... I live in a state with only 1 track that barely qualifies as a track, so this page is a mute point now, LOL

This will be a listing of all my track experiences. I plan on listing every single time I get every time I go. First reason, I want to keep track of this stuff for myself, as timeslips fade, get lost, whatever. And second, perhaps it'll help out others to know what to expect from their own Specs with similar setups, or if they are just curious.

Well, I went to the track on a whim, and came home on a flatbed. The clutch was slipping worse than the stock one, and then on the 3rd run the flywheel flew off because the bolts ripped out due to the flywheel being unbalanced. *sigh* Car is down once again.
45 degrees out... not that made a difference when the flywheel was hanging off, lol.

Run 1: 14.384 @ 101.15 mph, 2.441 60'
Run 2: 15.658 @ 92.61 mph, 2.560 60'
Run 3 (the bestest run ever... gotta love hearing a horrendous noise of a flywheel breaking loose): 14.571 @ 101.00mph, 2.456 60'

Second day in a row at the track. Two words for the day: BURNT CLUTCH. Which smells pretty nasty and doesn't go away. Stock clutch does not hold 8 psi very well... and it explains my problems from the previous night
Weather: 45 degrees

Run 1: 19.088 @ 66.73mph, 2.347 60'
1st gear went great, best 60' so far. 2nd, 3rd, 4th the car refused to move as the clutch totally would not grab. First I thought I would have to pull off and let the track people drag me back, but finally I got 3rd to catch, and I pretty much gave up on the run. The smell of burnt clutch was disgusting. The announcer called my car a "R type."

Run 2: 15.017 @ 94.07, 2.639 60'
Not sure if my clutch was totally gone, I babied 1st & 2nd heavily until I was sure I could get down the track successfully, which I did. Ran 6.6 psi (wastegate) just to make sure I didn't ruin the clutch anymore

Run 3: 14.364 @ 100.76mph, 2.427 60'
As 60 foot shows, I was still babying the first two gears but got a decent run in considering what the day had been like. 8.8psi for this run

Conclusions: good thing i have a new clutch sitting in the living and too bad it's not in my car :(

My very first time at the track with my car! And first time going all out with the turbo...which means... no experience. 8psi for all these runs
Weather: 42 degrees (in other words, fucking cold)

Run 1: 17.673 @ 101.1 mph, 4.659 60'
yes, that is correct... 101.1 mph in 17 seconds. so i launched, and quickly found out that my first two gears are completely useless. i had to actually put on the brakes, stop, shift into 2nd again, and then go. two gear burnout on the starting line FTW!

Run 2: 14.758 @ 101.09mph, 2.598 60'
learning from the first run, this time I just eased into 1st, once I knew my tires would grab I stomped on it, and then when I shifted to second I immediately hit red line (clutch slipping? crappy tires? cold weather?) and had to hit 3rd. However, I still made up 3 seconds

Run 3: 14.241 @ 102.66mph, 2.450 60'
Best run of the night! Eased into first, eased into 2nd, stomped it, and hit everything else great. I mean, great for what I am dealing with. Obviously my trap speeds are showing that these could easily be 13-something runs.

Run 4: 14.285 @ 102.44mph, 2.391 60'
did the same thing as the second run... eased 1st, stomped 2nd, went immediately to redline, had to go to 3rd. but... for the first time at a track I kicked someone's ass, and that was great! Buh-bye RX-8, maybe you should've used all that money for a faster car ;)

Conclusions: Shitty all season Zrated Toyo tires suck ass for drag racing, cold weather sucks, and my turbo spools too fast! Well, or my car has too much damn power :( Hopefully I see 13s tomorrow! And drag radials are getting ordered SOON
