This is my newest project.
It's an original 1989 Chrysler Daytona Shelby. Two years ago i found this car by mistake... I found a guy selling a 1989 Daytona ES in the local auto trader and when i went to look at the car i noticed a blue 'tona hiding behind the barn, so i went and looked at it and sure enough it was a 1989 Daytona Shelby, (I've been looking for a '89 blue T-top Shelby for a LONG time) these cars seem to be getting very hard to find nowadays. I never ended up buying the ES, but i tried for the Shelby for a long time, but the guy wouldn't sell it. One year later i called the guy and asked again if he would sell it and he finally gave in and sold it to me. The car was parked due to an engine problem (never looked to far into it yet, but i suspect a cracked piston) It has 181,000km's on it and its Electric blue/charcoal, T-tops, enthusiast grey cloth seats, dealer installed A/C when new and T2 engine with the A555 transmission.
The body is very clean! It has no rust anywhere and appears to have never been in any accidents. It just has the typical door dings and faded/peeling paint which every 20yr old weathered car seems to have. I plan on doing a full restoration on this car and put it back to the way it came from the factory with all the original decaling. I'll update the site as i start the restoration, but in the meantime here are some pics of it as it sits.
It came with the original 16" pumpers but they had rotten tires, so i threw on a set of crab rims/tires that i had laying around.
Newest... finally got it back on the road!!!
Another Daytona! This is a 1990 Chrysler Daytona Shelby. It is a 2.5L T1 auto which seems to have every possible option. I haven't looked into the producton #'s just yet, but i know their are very few of these made. It has red leather interior with the fully adjustable drivers seat, PW, PM, PS, PB, CC, A/C, sunroof, infinity II stereo, heated mirrors, rear defrost, rear wiper and i'm sure i'm missing a few other options.
