1967 Ford mustang Eleanor GT 500 restomod work in progress. The car will feature a new Heidt's mustang II front suspension with rack and pinion steering and 4 wheel disc brakes. In the rear are installing a Martz 4 link suspension allowing us to minitub her 2 inches in order to fit 315's on 11x17 inch wheels. There was LOTS of rust on this girl..all replaced with new metal and rustproofed. We will be dropping in Ford Racing's 514 crate motor prepped and dynoed from John Kasse racing. When he is done we are looking at about 675 HP of it....should move her along pretty good ! I will gradually add more pictures to the page showing the extent of our restoration. With time, effort and of course lots of money this will truly be a dream come true This is the Heidt's Mustang II welded in. A die hard chevy man (my dad) taking pride in cutting the front end out of my Ford !! "where's the duct tape he says" !!
Here is the begining of my tub job. We are stuffing some 315's under here in order to harness the power that lies within! Hopefully when all is said and done we will be able to retain the interior panels without modification. So far so good. I made so much room i am contemplating some 335's.
Here is the seat bracket modified allowing me to get an inch or two more to the inside. The top of the interior panel will stay stock but the bottom here will be moved to the inside about an inch and half. Modifications (narrowing) to your seat may be neccessary if you go this route.
Here is a couple shots of the wheels mocked up in postion. Hopefully my calculations are correct for the axle lengths and backspacing or else i'll be back in the operating room cutting and welding !
Good ol ford must have used some space age rustproofing.....NOT !!

I always say the widder the tires the better, looks like you squeezed some big tires in those wheel wells, very nice. it. Can't wait to see it completed.
