This is the engine before.
This the 301 intake after I painted it Pontiac Blue Metallic.
Here it is between a '73 2bbl. Pontiac intake and a '65 Pontiac intake. Ain't it cute... The '73 is from Mike Roberts's Catalina. He's got a 4bbl. in it now. Go look at his car, he's in my friends list thing.
Here it is next to the 65 Pontiac intake.
Guess what. The 301 intake is on the left.
Here are some pictures of the now modified carb. spaceplate that my dad is thinking(along with the flatter than hell intake) will help me get alot of torque. We removed the EGR valve, as you can see. We don't need no shtinking Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve!
This is what we've been doing...

New, all aluminum FlexFan. The old clutch fan assembelly weighed about 20lbs. The new one weighs about 5lbs.(probably more like 2-3!)
New fuel pressure gauge. Just thought this would look cool!
New starter. The old one was hard as hell to get off due to it weighing 20lbs. and it being in such a tight space. The new one wasn't much easier to do even though it weighs less (15lbs.).
New battery tray.

I've also put in new RapidFire spark plugs, they're supposed to add about 20 horsepower. And I got a new cap and rotor, hotter coil, a new ignition module, and a B&M shift kit. I'm currently doing a port and polish job on the intake and heads in my basement. I've never done it before, so it's a good chance to learn.
