3.25.10 NA Engine Build Nearing Completion

Technosquare, in Torrance CA, has been building my spare block for the past couple of months and the block is ready to be installed. The goal was to build a hi-comp, high revving NA engine for track use, and we'll see soon enough if that was accomplished. The build components are listed below-

Wiseco 96mm Forged Pistons, Eagle Forged Rods, ARP Main/Rod/Head Studs, Nismo Oil Pump, Tomei Headers,
Cosworth Heads, Cosworth Head Gaskets, Cosworth ZK2 Cams

Dyno results to follow!

2.24.10 New Look
We recently wrapped the car in matte black vinyl, and asked Rare JDM team member Marcus Cooke to do a shoot. He did a great job, and I couldn't be happier with the pics!

Just completed stitch welding half the car and a custom headlight ducting setup. I cut the headlight up, mocked up the vent, drew up a picture, and Auto Explosion in Gardena made the ducting. Came out just like I was hoping.

Well, the car is gutted now, and I have 2 sets of Work Wheels, and 2 sets of Nitto tires. NT05's for the street and NT01's for the track. We'll be putting in the roll cage soon, and our track day schedule keeps getting bigger and bigger. I changed the vinyls out a few months back and have been running them ever since.

Haven't updated in a long time... been tracking the car, and it's undergoing some big changes. Had full vinyls on the car for the last 2 track events - they're all off again since I daily drive the car.

A couple small things, added a trans cooler and changed out all the rubber lines to steel braided.

Installed ARC intake pipe, induction box, oil cap, and radiator cap. The car sounds totally different under WOT... much loader and more aggressive!

A few pictures from HIN Los Angeles. I had entered my car with the R-Rides team, had a great time!

Installed Tein Basics today... not too difficult, although the Borla exhaust made it difficult to do the rear. The Tein Basics are a little more stiff compared to stock, but not jarring. The ride is great and the only time it's noticeably rougher is when you're driving on a bad road.

After I found a good ride height and got an alignment done the car handles great! The coilovers, sway bars, and wider wheels/tires really made a huge difference in handling. I can take corners way faster and with a lot more confidence, the car really sticks.

Just picked up my car from the body shop a couple days ago... had the new bumper, sides, and rear diffuser painted - came out great IMO. I swaped out the 05 reflector headlights with 06 projectors and Philip Ultinon 6000k bulbs - much brighter, cleaner light. I'm looking for another 5AT trans to buy so I can get it built to race spec... then we'll see about some sort of FI setup :)
