nice cougar it looks just like my 79 exept the dash and the tailights and haveing a grill and not as many dents lol. well anyways you can get headers for it go find some factory mustang headers and cut the drivers side flange off and weld about 3-5 inches of pipe to it and it will clear the stearing just fine. nobody makes them so you have to use whats avalible!!!one thing i dont agree with is you say it has a 351windser in it and 2.50 gears but i know for a fact that the 351w in a 79 had 2.47 gears in it and the 302 had the 2.50 gear not that that really matters. but the part where you say it would realisticlly run around 145 area is true i had mine around that once in the 3 years i owned it and it took a very long straight away. in mine i could take 1st gear to 75-80 and proved it to many people let off the gas and it would power shift into second. and 2nd i dont know what it topped out at i ran out of numbers and had 3rd to go. also if you like to road trip in it the back seat pulls up and you can fit a 12 pack on each side. that is why i am now the proud owner of a 2nd 79 cougar

Cool car man. Not that i'm biased or anything to 78 cougars...Anyway, summit was correct in saying that they don't have headers that would fit your car. No one makes them that fit, not even shorty's will fit. The exhaust side is just too close to the inner fender on these cars. Just out of curiosity, where'd you get those dyno numbers? Is that the original motor in the car? Keep up the good work, check out my page if you want. Later man, Clint

Nice Cougar. My neighbor across the street had a dark green one when I was a kid. Boy your cars bring memories for me! Somebody's been hating on it though. I rated you up to 4 stars, and while I was reading it went down to 3. F--- HATERS!
