    love the idea of a 390 big block i have a 69 sst with a 390 big block ford in it. you will have to make everything to drop it in but it does fit lol. its not a true machine being ford motor and all but has a look alike hood and a 390 just not the amc 390 that the machine had. i also have a 3500 stall and challenger front end and read end with 383 gears posi. up to 30x12.5 will fit stock on this cars rear wells no tubs needed. mine had the 290 v8 wich some sites have it posted 68 was last year for this engine but i know car is matching numbers and is 69 grill and fins are different in front of rear tire wells. oh and the 390 can be punched well over 450 sumptin. i have 428 crank and valve train with 427 aftermqarket heads proformer 390 dual plain intake its 60 thousands over with forged flattops 11 to 1 compression. i havent had it dynoed but i know for fact it runs high 7s all day long and will hold a rev limit 6500 rpms all day. i broke three driveshafts and two axles when getting things right.

    cool car. i'm looking at buying a 67 sst convertible. so far the vin says it has a 290 in it. like yours i guess. i wanna know how that motor was for you. i currently sport a 87 bird with 1 350. you think that might be comparable? i here alot of good things about these cars and i have a chance to get one really cheap! check out my ride and let me know
