Well, the ranger is sitting at home while I'm in college. I'm a junior at Mississippi State university pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a team member of the MSU Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the MSU Motorsports Team. Our motorsports division designs, fabricates, tests, tunes, and races a scaled formula car each year. The last few years has entered the BAHA Buggy competition. In 2005 we switched to Formula SAE. Here are some pictures of the 05-06 formula car. We competed in Detroit, MI, at the ford proving grounds and had a great review for a first year team.

I have also been working on design for my co-op experience and MSU Motorsports. For confidentiality reasons, I cannot post those projects, however, I can post my own personal designs.
Here is a blower scoop I'm working on. It is one of the simple designs I have done, but it's one of my favorites.
Hello. My name is Jason and I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I drive the Ranger Stang; a 1992 Ford Ranger Custom with a supercab. It has a modified .040 302 Liter V8 engine, built AOD transmission w/shift kit, and a 7.5" positraction limited slip differential with 3.45 gears. The radiator, along with many other items, had to be custom mounted and required a lot of cutting and fabrication. The transmission and engine mounts were fabricated for the first set. The second set of engine mounts are reversible mustang mounts with modifications to the engine cross member, and the third set is in the works. Now that the AOD went out, I will be replacing it with a 5 or 6 speed manual and convert it to a hydrualic clutch. I need to get a larger radiator and strip the entire truck down to save weight. The interior will be stripped and a roll bar cage is going in. The dash will be replaced with a sheet of aluminum.
~10/31/05: I will be working at Tower Automotive in Jackson, MS Spring and Fall of 06, and the Summer of 07.
~08/31/2005: I'm attending MSU full time so I have no time or money to put into my projects. I just wanted to post a picture of my daily driver and my two project vehicles. I am; however, in the MSU Motorsports program. We design, test, tune, and race a formula race car!
~10/13/04: I purchased a 1966 Austin Healey Sprite for restoration. It should be running this weekend. More pics on Sprite 1275. The ranger is not forgotten, but has been put aside for another project that will not be as costly or time consuming to complete. This new car is only 4ft wide and 11ft long!
~9/10/04: New build should take place after christmas. I will have a new aod/c4/t5 transmission and a new 2,800rpm stall converter if applicable. The top end will be freshened up with brand new heads and adjustable rocker arms. If I can get the block cleaned that is all that will be done, but if not, I will buy a new block and build a completely new engine. The 4.10 gears will be reinstalled and some new rims/tires will be chosen. Badazzrangers.com crashed a while back. I have a temporary site up until then, but cardomain will be my main page now. Stay tuned this winter for more updates!
~7/20/04: I blew up the transmission so the truck is grounded for a good while. I plan to rebuild the trans to handle over 500 hp since the engine will push over 500 this time around after the rebuild is finished. I have a 98 mustang as a daily driver while the build takes place.
~5/17/04: The beast lives! This thing is badd! I smoked a newer GT and a dodge hemi with no problem. The engine has a lot more in it. I still need to reinstall the 4.10 gears, install a larger radiator, and possibly replace the transmission. The AOD just robs too much power. Of course, both times I raced were after the initial and following break-in periods.
~5/13/04: The engine is installed, and everything is hooked up. Installing trans cooler lines, and disengaging the clutch safety switch today. The engine will also come to life today. The only thing needed for it to be drivable is a shifter cable. The throttle and tv cables will be adjusted today also. The exhaust will take about an hour to do at a local shop. We are going to trailer the ranger to this location. Stay tuned for updates!
