THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD.

----------------
In the beginning...
----------------

When I got it, it was missing a lot of stuff, like all 3 Ford symbols, the gas door opener button, the lock on the trunk (so I had to use a screwdriver) and a lot of other stuff, but I've fixed most of that now. (See page 7.)

I'm only 16, and being that my only source of income is mowing my neighbors lawn, I won't be doing anything to the car that isn't really needed.

The story behind me getting this car is actually kind of long, it took almost 2 months to find this car, which seemed like a really long time for me. It started sometime in early November, when I finished segment 1 of driver's ed. My mom didn't want me driving her car, ad I really didn't want to drive it either, so I sort of needed my own car. I started looking for a car, but with a VERY limited amount of money to work with ($1000), I didn't find much.

Most of the stuff I looked into getting had already sold, was in bad condition, or had engine problems that would require a new engine. Eventually, my dad found a guy who got cars from an impound lot and sold them to people. I was going to get an Escort from him, but it wasn't in very good condition for the price. He had a Tempo too, but it got sold without him knowing before he actually got it from the impound lot. He called my dad on Saturday (10/26) and told him about the Mustang. We didn't think we would get it, because the insurance might be higher, but then we found out it wouldn't be, so we went to go see it. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, so we offered $750 and the guy accepted it. If we had noticed all the other problems, we would have offered less, but we somehow missed a lot of things wrong with it.

The next Wednesday (10/30) we went back to pick it up. It took longer than it was supposed to to get it. The ramp onto I-94 was closed, so we had to try to figure out where to go. We ended up going through east Dearborn and some bad parts of Detroit, but after about an hour and a half, we were there, and nothing had happened, other than us being late. My mom drove home, and my dad and I went in to the guy's house to pay. Oddly enough, my dad only got $600 out of the bank, so we had to give him all the other money we had with us, including my $5. So we actaully paid $747 total. Anyway, that's when we found out that there was no key for the doors, and that it was somewhere under one of the seats... (We found out later that there really wasn't a key under the seat.) Most of the gauges didn't work, only the speedometer, odometer, and tripometer. (All the gauges have been fixed now.)

Note: I'm not really sure about the horsepower, it's just what someone wrote it inside the front cover of my manual thing, so that's what I put. I think i'll just leave it as is, and people can refer to this if they think it's wrong, not that I'm saying 110 horsepower is right for sure, it just sounds better than 88, even though 110 still isn't very much.
