Sept 19/08 Update
After replacing almost everything I am finally driving my car everyday. It handles like a go kart and is a joy to drive heres some recent pics...

Me and Chrenan's 1980 924 with extensive mods at a car show...

HISTORY
Its a '79 Sebring edition. They only made about 1300 of these after Porsche's win at Sebring. The car does not have the proper stripes down the sides and the "924" decal on the front. The Black wheels with a polished lip was an option available on the Sebring edition. This '79 has an aftermarket spoiler and "Porsche" insert on the back between the tail lights.

Heres how I got it....

Bought a '77 924 for parts, heres how I got it....

After a really good cleaning....

The engine transplant. The engine was rebuilt. It has a '77 block and '81 head. The newer head has bigger intake valves than a '77.

Now we drink!!!! Nemiroff vodka goes down good.

First time on the road, it wasnt registered or insured, so I only drove her up and down the street. Its only illegal if you get caught!

After a good cleaning and the first wax/polish...

Finally on the road....

Painted my re-built brakes...

Custom painted gauges, and I switched the tach in the middle where it belongs...

Bought a pair of Tenzo-R seats beacuse my old ones where ghetto and seat belt shoulder pads...

New Silvania Silverstar HID headlights and Bosch Pilot 100 amber fog lights...

I took out the EGR valve because it is for hippies, I made a plate out of aluminum for where the EGR valve used to be...

After killing a brand new fuel pump because of the dirty fuel tank I installed a racing rechargeable fuel filter with help from a new custom fuel line...

Upgraded the suspension with Bilstien HD shocks and struts, weltmiester 250# progressive rate lowering springs, 19mm 3-way adjustable solid sway bar from a Porsche 968, new strut mounts and adjusted my rear spring plates to lower the rear end. The front was lowered about 1.5'' and the rear about 3''. The car is now level, the way it was designed. When these cars were imported to North America the rear bumbers were raised to meet legislation. This threw out the balance of these cars. I now have about 4-5'' of body clearence. I also have an aggressive custom wheel alignment that was preformed by the local Porsche dealership. This wheel alignment gives a very crisp turn in response and better overall handling.

Old 14mm rear sway bar Vs. New rear 19 mm rear sway bar...

Old Gabriel Struts Vs. New Bilstien Struts, the Bilstien pistons are HUGE!!!!...

New Yokohama AVS ES 100 205/60R14 rubber. These are the biggest tyres I could get on the stock 6 inch wide rim. I bought these tyres from Tirerack.com and got an amazing deal, I would recommend Tirerack.com to everyone. These tyres are amazing, they are like glue...

The pilot bearing in the clutch assembly decided to come apart and eat my clutch, so a new one went in...

I bought a 924 Turbo (aka 931) valence from my buddy Chrenan, I will eventually make it as straight as possible and paint it guards red to match my car...

Getting dirty+goofy workin on the car, the football paint is oil/grease that was on my hands :) I'm pretty sure that grease is older than me, lol

Last drive of 2008 on my favorite road I have nicknamed the Northern Test Loop aka The Nurbrockring.
