Here are some Hurricane Katrina pictures. All you hear on the news is about what happened in New Orleans. The Mississippi coastline is devastated too, and hit the hardest. It will take years to come to help build the community back.
Many of the community stayed in their homes during the hurricane. Most probably figured their homes stood up to Hurricane Camille and Betty that it will stand for Katrina. Sadly, they were wrong. Many causalities were found. Imagine working at a shelter for the coast victims. Broken families searching for their spouse or children. At each meal time, someone would tell you their story about riding out the storm, on their roof top but their loved one didnt make it and was pulled out by the water current. Or how someone watched their spouse or pet or children drown and there was nothing they could do. Storm surges of 30ft in some cities, which just wiped out a population. One story from a military crew was finding a house with the 4 members of the family sitting around a table, dead. Just imagine for a second...
