Dream Gear Mobile Audio and Accessory

A 1988 HF with a locked up motor is slowly rising from the dead.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 09-05-04 This is what the CRX looked like the day it was purchased. It is an HF, the only thing wrong with it was the body, some interior parts, and the motor was locked up. Other than that it was a steal for a $100!

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 09-05-04 Just another shot before it is towed away to the tow lot, so I can get the title straightened out since the car was considered "Abandoned Property".

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 09-05-04 The interior was all there, but just a bit worn. The rear panels were all perfect, but the previous owner decided they thought painting a few interior pieces white would be a good idea.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 09-05-04 The stereo was gone, but this car is going to rise from the dead with a much better audio system. The HVAC controller wasn't even cracked! Pretty rare for a CRX.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 04-03-05 When I finally had the title straightened out, I towed it to a friends shop where I started to gut the interior. Unbelievably, the most stubborn part to remove was the spare tire which had melted itself to the body. Luckily we found no rust on the floorboard.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 11-19-05 After over one year of waiting (mainly on funds), we were finally able to start disassembling the motor and prepping it for removal.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 11-19-05 We were told we didn't need the cherry picker. I'm glad we used it because it made lining up the engine to the tranny and then being able to bolt them together made it so much easier than holding the motor.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 11-19-05 After pushing the CRX across the parking lot, I took this picture to show how dirty the engine bay was. In the next pic you can actually see the tranny. In this pic it is all black.

Jayhawker's 1988 Honda CRX 11-19-05 As you can see $5.00 worth of "Engine Brite" and about 20 minutes with a pressure washer really worked well. You can compare this picture with the one above and see that the tranny is much cleaner as is the entire bay itself.

I would trade you a white ford fairmount futura for that. That crx would look nice with sticky outies on it!
