So I've finally gotten my car out of the shop. A very generous and hard working man near Richmond, VA worked on it. He completely repaired the damaged panels and door. It was such great work, I was stunned at the expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. I'll get some pictures up soon, I have the seats taken out so I can spray POR-15 on my floorboards before I put in the carpet and underlay. I've got new seat covers so my interior will look a whole lot better with that. I still need to work on a few things to get all my lights working and I have my nickel plated rear bumper to install. The front bumper is next. So I'm still doing a lot on this Cutlass and it's taking time. I wish I had my own garage though!

Well, it's been a while since I've visited this website. I've been busy with life, you know... just got back from Iraq and I haven't seen my car yet! It's getting new floorboards and I should be able to visit it this weekend. I hope to be able to post new pictures.
So an update on the past 3 years:
My car was wrecked in October of 2006. A truck hit me broaside on the right flank damaging the passenger door, quarterpanel, destroying the quarter-glass and even sent damage up to the fender and trunk lid area. I was really sad and felt defeated. This is my first car and I had so many plans.
Well, when I left for Iraq I left the car with my Dad. I gave him some money and asked for his help to get it repaired. Now that I'm back I've yet to see my Cutlass. The door has been repaired along with the other body work. I still have some work to do on it, but the real hard stuff has been done.
I still have the same engine in it, but it has been rebuilt after I blew the motor going up a hill. This was before I got into the wreck. I don't really gun it so I was surprised when it happened. There must have been a stress crack on one of the rods when it blew. It's funny how things worked out, I eventually worked at the place that rebuilt my engine and had a very good experience at MasterCraft.
So now I've got a rebuilt 330 sitting in the car. I feel like I still need to work on it because when I left it didn't 'feel' right. I probably am going to get a brand new carb from Edelbrock, one that is the right size and fits.

Now that I got my car back it's dying on me! The starter motor is almost completely dead. I have full battery power I believe, so I'm going to have to get a starter. This time I'll do the work myself.

Got my car back from the shop. The upper/lower ball joints were replaced, front brake hose, backing plate for the left rear drum brake repaired, and both front and rear shoes.

I installed a new glove-box and shaved off the rust from the glove-box door and hinges. Then I painted them with some primer and black paint and reinstalled. Nothing much done, but it was the first day of seeing the car in the light. There's a leak in parts of the windshields so thats what's causing lots of the rust in the trunk and behind the dash.
The previous owner before the seller replaced the vinyl hardtop and did a good job. He had some body work done, but the bondo is starting to crack in some places. He also tinted the windows, and someone had it painted from white to black according to the paint in the door jam (white). It has a remote alarm system which is nice.

I bought this car off of eBay for a really great price. The guy I bought it from had it for 3 years when he had bought it from a transmission store. The transmission is rebuilt and has less than 500 miles on it. It has a 320-hp Jetfire Rocket V-8 Engine with a new Holly Four Barrel Carb.
The previous owner put in the following:
A new timing chain and gears, new powersteering pump, and new radiator and hoses and water-pump
New dryer on the R-12 converted AC system
New Holly Four barrel carberator with electronic choke
New cap, rotor, plugs and wires. New belts on AC/PS/and fan
The bumper is bent! ><
17 feet long
You can see, my front seats are ripped like most other partially restored classics
No covers on the back seats
Bondo is cracking on fender
Some rust on fender
