I wasn't sure where i want to go with this rig so i decided bigger would be a nice start.
This is the rig i purchased 9/05
I use this cad file to see what the rig will look like before i actually make a major change.
I brought the running gear home back on 8/24/06
restored D44 with cross steer.
Installed D44
I removed the old flimsy Chevy rag joint and modified this universal steering shaft from a 1991 cherokee to fit.
Restoring 14B FF with new spring perches, disc brakes and dual shocks
I found a set of calipers off a 1977 Cadilac at the wrecking yard. These are unique because they have an e-brake built into the caliper and fit the stock chevy rotors.
Installed 14 bolt
3/4 ton conversion is complete 11/25/06
update: 12-10-06 - I had to replace the front 6" springs and 0 rates with new 8" skyjackers as the cross steer was hitting the lifted springs.
The best conversion of all. A new 8' door so i cant get the beast in the garage.
