kustomkyle, thanks for the comments. Unfortunatly some say the INDIAN built rigs were crap to start with! I think I was just expecting to much from the standard diffs & cv's. these mongrel tyres have so much bloody grip on rocks & mud its just not funny, for a recaped tyre anyway. hope to hear from you again:)

suzy4x4, I wouldn't say your bus is lame at all. Mine started off first time round very similar. body lift, extended shackles, re set standard springs 31-10.5r15 etc. then made into flat tray & fitted 31" mongrels. It was just to much for my stock 1L running gear to handle!. Unfortunatly the engine I have fitted was never available with a factory turbo. It was supercharged & came out of a MR2., so technichly it was mid-mount east-west ( same as front wheel drive). It is not an easy fit & took me 7 months of part time work to get it going. www.kaos4x4.com.au have fitted this engine before in standard form. Fitting the hilux axles to the rear was simply by fitting new spring mounts to diff housing, also available from big balls offroad. On the front you need to move the mounts on the chassis out to match the hilux diff. They end up within a couple of mm's of the stock wide track mounts!. The steering was a little trickier, you need to go crossover conversion on the nuckles & move a steering box (preferably independent front hilux box) to the outside of chassis rail. Snake racing then do a kit of rock rods to match the new length. I dont run a steering dampener but the vehicle tracks perfectly & does not bump steer. The mongrels are fitted to hilux spec' speedy desert rats (sunraysers?) trave has gained but I think this is more to do with the extra with out from the springs. dont hesitate to ask anymore questions. if you want I can post them in your guest book.

sup, nice rig. at least you've bastardized the zuk in a good way, not really into hybrids unless they look good and yours looks good. anyway untill i get a new daily driver i wont be goin to the extremes you have but when i do i'll be lookin back to these pages for inspiration.ciao for now.
