I got this car in March 2002 to replace my ailing '86 Oldsmobile Firenza, a.k.a. Lil' Rocket. (Now better known as Lil' Sprocket, Rust in Pieces, baby!! :)). It's a '94 Altima, GXE, pretty much stock as of right now.

So far, I've been focusing on getting a nice bumpin' system in it. I've put in a JVC KD-SX980 MP3/CD deck. I highly recommend this deck to everyone, especially if you can get it for under $200. It plays without fail, has all the necessary features, and the multi-color display looks damn nice when driving at night. Best of all, it brought out unnaturally high quality sounds from my stock Clarion speakers (5x7s in the front doors, and 6-1/2's in the back). However, this is not the end. I've recently completed building the rest of the system. The bass comes from two Infinity Reference 1220w's (Got them for $160 shipped from sounnddomain.com). I heard these subs at CircuitCity, and they blew my mind away, they're an awesome deal for the price. The subs are driven by a Lanzar Vibe420 amp. It's a 4-channel amp with more features than all the higher-priced amps I was looking at before (Bazooka EL2100 or JVC KS-AX6700, for example). I'm running the amp bridged into 2 x 200 W @ 4 ohms. My father and I built our own boxes, sealed, one for each sub, designed to minimize the space used in my trunk (they use up a lot anyway). This is the first system I've ever built, and I was looking for SQ, not so much SPL. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the results so far. I have a great system with a lot of headroom (the system isn't running at more than 50% potential right now, and it's already enough for my ears). In the end, I've spent just over $500 (stereo, subs, box materials, amp, wiring kits, etc.) for what in my opinion is a very decent, value-optimized system. UPDATE (6/16/03): After a year, finally my stock Clarions in the front blew out. So, I went to CircuitCity, and got a pair of cheap 5x7 Kenwood KFC5708C's (I heard good things about them). I put them in, and was pleased to find that they brought out much better highs into the whole system. I think my system is perfect now :-D UPDATE (12/2/03): Over the past few months, I've been focusing on getting the noise out of the system, and I put some Dynamat Xtreme on the trunk lid, and some more around the license plate. This seems to have fixed most of my rattling problems.

As for performance upgrades, I'll hold off for now. One, I'm not into racing, so my car doesn't need to have insane amounts of power, and two, I'm not into making my car sound like loud crap from blocks away. I might eventually put in a WAI or replace the stock muffler with something that doesn't sound too obnoxious. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Appearance - Over the past summer (2003), I've been busy upgrading my GXE to an SE trim. I shopped around different junkyards and such, and came up with a spoiler, a set of Aluminum alloys, and fog lights. I'm still looking for the sideskirts, and I'm considering replacing the rear drum brakes with the discs found in SE models. Also, since I'm drawn to nice lights and such, I replaced my taillights with some clears (and have since put up with some B.S. harassment from local cops (..|..) ;)

That's about it, do your worst and yea/nay my car to your liking.

The JVC deck as it sits in the dash. Notice the remote wire still hanging out ;)

The complete system in the trunk (the amp setup is temporary, I'm still trying to figure out a best spot for it, probably in between the boxes). I also need to put grills on the subs so they don't get damaged
