SUSPENSION

My main goal with the susupension is to get this car as low

and tight as possible. Idealy I would like to install an Air Bag

system by Air Ride Technology. Since I have found no real

bolt on kit for a Caprice, it will have to be created from a

collection of parts. This is the stace than Im going for.

Here are some of the other suspension components that I

will be installing to tighten this marshmellow up.

SOUND SYSTEM

The sound system is pretty much all set in place. I have all

the speakers installed other than the two subs (DUAL

Illumilite series 12") that I purchased a few years back with

the other stereo equiptment. I just need a sub box for the

back. Here's the ideas I had.

I want to tuck one sub into each quarter panel. The box

will be made out of 3/4 maple for the face and MDF board

for the enclosure portion. It will be ported due to the small

size of the area. The face will be made from maple with a

black stain and clear epoxy applied to it. This will give it a

nice deep gloss but retain the wood grain look. Holes will

be cut in the face and plexiglass windows will be glued

from the inside. They will then be back lit with a blue neon

that will pulse with the music. I've created the dimensions

of the box out of cardboard allready and the second image

is what it will look like all done.

INTERIOR

The interior of this car (aside from the deck) is completely

stock and imaculate. Theres no real reason to mess with an

interior like that. The only thing that I felt the need to do was

to install a center console. I like driving this car long

disctances and ussally have a soda or something along the

way, so cup holders were a nessecity. Also this car has NO

guages other than a speedometer and fuel level, so a place

for guages would be needed. Finally I need a place for my

stereo remote and other random little things that make there

way into my car, so for this a "cubbie" was needed. Here are

the two designs I came up with.

~On the left is the bare wirework of one design. I left this

one bare to show the complex angles that I will have to cut

to get the guages to face me.

~On the right would be the finished product of version two.

This idea is relativly the same except I would be using a

fiberglass guage pod made for Camaros and Novas as

opposed to making my own. Also I made a door for the

"cubbie" instead of leaving it open.

~Both versions would be constructed the same way as the

sub box shown above. The console will be made from 3/4in

maple stained black and coated with a clear epoxy to give it

a deep shine. I will also leave the option to put some

custom blue neons and plexiglass like the sub box.

The neons that I will be using are from Oznium.com and the

come in lengths from 1.5in to 6ft which is perfect for a job like

                         this.
