This is my X1/9. A little info on it- The X was garaged until recently. It sat for 21 years!! In 86', when the car saw its last ray of daylight it had just had a full engine rebuild due to the fact that the previous female driver, my mother, overheated and jacked the engine. So the car sat. I remembered that the car sat under the cover for ages and decided to see if I could drag it out and have it as a daily driver instead of my beloved Datsun 280ZX. Little did I realize the little thing had a slew of electrical gremlins. So its sits still, waiting for me to get it running.

Hi Jake;I thought I would check back in with you, and tell you that I am interested in buying your 1974 Midnight Blue Fiat X1/9. I would like to build it back to its former glory to match the car that I purchased just like it in 1976.I wondered if the car could still be discussed with you. Thanks,Joel in Topeka, KansasHome of the Sports Car Club of America National Headquarters, and Heartland Park Topeka

Hi Jake. I don't know if you are a huge x1/9 enthusiast or not, but as a former owner of 4 x1/9's, and a former member of the Fiat Club in the Bay Area, you are very lucky soul to have a first year x1/9 with the "HOLY GRAIL" first year bumpers. They are very slim and lightweight, unlike the later awkward-looking and much heavier ones. In other words, don't let some "Fiat Punk' low-ball you for the "whole car" just to grab the bumpers! Take good care of her :)

Hi Jake;I may have misread your original information about the engine. Is the engine mechanically sound and parked after the engine rebuild? Is most of the dark coloring on the body just dirt and grime?Do you have pictures of the car after a good car wash? Thanks again. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks,Joelthegravitymaster

Hi Jake;I received your reply, but I just signed on to Car Domain when I saw your X1/9, so I don't know all about emailing and such on this website in particular.I am interested in talking with you more about this X1/9 because I like the blue model best. I'm definitely trying to get a 1974 year. You said the car has a damaged engine, but I am not sure that you stated what the actual mileage is on the car. Please let me know that if you would. What does the situation with rust look like on the body. Are most of the parts to the car there.I'd like to learn more about the car from you, but if you could explain how I can send email directly to you I would appreciate that. How does CarDomain allow private emails between CarDomain members? Thanks,Joelthegravitymaster
