THE BUILD - Constantly being updated, stay tuned

So I've always enjoyed my SVT tour, but as time has passed my growing passion for the car wanted more.  I've missed the power and acceleration that my built Camaro had to offer and found myself looking at Porsche 911 turbos and Dodge Vipers for my next vehicle.  Well I weighed the cost of buying one of these vehicles versus the cost of bringing my SVT Contour up to a comparable performance level and to me it seemed that I would have more bang for the buck by building up my existing car.  Thus I started planning my build.

I've based a lot of the structure of this engine off of what has been known to work in the past as well as leveraging some knowledge from the Nobel cars, which use a twin-turbo Ford 3.0L Duratec.  I've spent a lot of time on phones talking to companies such as Scat, Wiseco, Pauter Machine, Arias Pistons, K1 Technologies, Ross Racing, Diamond Racing, AER Manufacturing, and many more.  I've contracted Wagamon Brother's a engine builder local to my home to provide the machine work necessary to make this build happen.  I have very high power goals for this car, but not all of this power will be useable from the start.  This car will require substantial frame modifications and transmission/drivetrain upgrades to put the majority of my targeted power goals to the ground.  My plan is to prove out my build to these targeted levels, but then step it back down to a usable level until the rest of the car can support it.  Below you will find my tentative build plan along with my power targets.  Stay tuned to my page for updates.  The plan I have laid out will be shooting for completetion no later then April 2010.  Enjoy.
