This is My 1992 LeBaron GTC Covertable!
History
Back in 1991 I was 7 years old when my parents were shopping for a Jeep Cherokee. Once on the car lot looking at our various options I told my parents that we should get the red car. The red car was a LeBaron convertible. My parents ended up purchasing an 89 Cherokee and sadly not the convertible! When I was 15 the desire was still there for that car. Although I had grown to be pickier as to what model I wanted. I would constantly search online listings for a mint condition red 1992 LeBaron GTC Turbo Convertible. In October 2003 I found one for sale in Calgary Alberta. This was the closest to my city I had found a car to match all my criteria. I had the car inspected by an independent third party and after much research I purchased the car on the 26th of November. I had to fly out to Calgary to drive the car home. Driving a convertible across the Rocky Mountains in winter isn?t exactly the safest thing in the world!
Once the car was home the car started to undergo its transformation. Unfortunately I have very few photos of the car before as I have only recently purchased a digital camera. The car had a string of bad luck that eventually lead to the car being repainted
1-Woman backs up into the front end of my car when she was attempting to back out of a parallel parking spot
2-Woman scrapes driver side mirror while trying to parallel park
3-Hit and run in a mall parking lot on front fender on driver side
4-Woman scrapes car from nose to spoiler while backing out of a driveway
5-Woman backs into nose of car again
6-Someone kicks in the back glass window to the convertible top causing it to rip and the whole thing had to be replaced.
The Insurance Corporation Of British Columbia took car of all that whether covered by my vandalism protection or the other drivers insurance. None of the repairs coat me due to the fact that none of the incidents were my fault.
What the car has to boast. The 1992 LeBaron GTC turbo is equipped with the 2.5L turbo charged 4 cylinder. The turbo in the car is the Turbo I High Torque. My mechanic tells me with what is under the hood the car should be pushing 220 horses after the modifications. The transmission was replaced in 1997 and the engine rebuilt in 2004. The vacuum system was reconfigured. The car a set of Eagle Alloy 15? chrome rims. The car also has a custom made full flow 4? exhaust system.
