I think I've nothing to say to the pics. I love my beast. I love to feel the power, to hear the incredible sound, the roaring engine...
Damned, what a car !
I own it since 2000 and there is always a lot of fun :-)

This is the very first picture of the Formula - on paper and scanned by me this week

Some details: built in 1988 as an export model, has km/h speedometer and other metric system gauges, it has the fine 5.0 liter engine with TPI system and 190 HP build in. There are no electrical little helpers (like power windows, power mirrors, power lock) - for what ? I don't need such things.

Those are one of the first pictures I made

Another gimmick is my lighted screaming chicken at the rear. Why did Pontiac build this in into the mid 90th Sunfire ? That was the idea and to have a part on my car, that nobody has in Germany.
The idea was given some years ago in my head and while I was on a course in the barracks, I had the time to transform my idea into the truth. After a lot of hour of grinding it was done: light comes through the 'bird' - it looks very great in the night.

Therefor I 'cut' the paint of the bird and 'Ponitac'-logo off from behind. You can see the outlines from behind. I carefully used my Dremel (multifunction rotary tool). And it took 3-4 hours.

Then I drilled two holes in the sides of the center part for the light bulbs. The bulbs are painted transparent red and connected to the light of the license plate. That's it ;)

And - of course - you can have a lot of fun with the incredible power...

I like it, when the lights are flipped up. It looks so sweet and innocent ;)

The latest pictures from June 2008. You can see the flat paint. It's time to repaint it. In this summer I'll do it.

July 19 , 2009 - I'm a little sad, because my Formula get's a new owner next week. I sold it because I bought that incedible good 1st Gen Honda Accord. And I haven't had the time while I had the Bird, to bring it to a new shine. The paint is bad and so on. The new owner is a guy, how searched a Formula since 8 years! He always looked to my Formula in the German Bandit-online Forum and as he noticed, that I try to sell my Bird, he 'packed the bull by the horns' and bought it. So I know, that my Formula is in the best hand I could get and it stays original all over. He is a original fan like me and is glad about it, that my Bird isn't a "Bastelbude" means, that to many guys made to much stuff on and with the car.

I'm gonna post the last pics of my beast.

July 28 , 2009 - No, the Beast is mine. The buyer couldn't take it because of private problems. So it's my bird anyway and I'm planning the new paint and little work on the engine (small leaks, sensors and optical stuff)

that was an awsome idea lighting up the bird on the tail lights, and something I've never thought of before. Great looking Firebird. 5 stars all the way

It's always a thrill to see these great cars enjoyed by folks in other countries. Great job on keeping it running well and good luck on the paint work. Firebirds rule!
