These are shots of my recently completed custom VeeRossa 1974 sunroof beetle.

The license plate reads ABUG2NV (A BUG TO ENVY). This car took a second place at the most recent Sacramento Bug-o-rama #49 in May. (Update: It took a first place at the recent VW JAM show in San Jose, and has been photographed for inclusion in a VW calendar due out for 2003.)<
I did all the body work and fitting of the Creative Car Crafts
www.creativecarcraft.com, "kit" myself. Paint is DuPont two stage Porsche Guards Red.
Engine is 1776cc, with a counterweighted crank, lightened 12.5lb flywheel, total seal rings on Cima/Mahl forged pistons, a Melling heavy duty 30mm oil pump, everything polished chromed out and assembled by yours truly.
Tires are BF Goodrich TA's, 225/50/15's on 7" Centerline Autodrags up front and 265/50/15's on 8.5" Autodrags in back. Handling improvments include lowered front end, heavy duty sway bars both front and rear, and high pressure KYB gas shocks front and rear.

DASH WITH FULL VDO INSTRUMENTATION

The custom upolstery (Black Tweed and Red "Mini Check" Tweed) is by Sewfine Interiors. www.sewfineproducts.com

I installed the custom front seats, rear seat cover, Black Tweed cloth headliner and carpets myself.

I also made and installed the custom door panels (also of the same black and red tweed material) The SLE logo is my initials, but also stands for Sport Luxury Edition.

The interior is fully padded and sound proofed (as best as can be done with that loud of an engine behind you).
The sound system currently consists of a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player (4x50watt), with Sony Xplod 6" speakers mounted in the front kick panels and Sony Xplod 6x9" triaxial speakers mounted in a custom upolstered rear speaker deck.

Future plans include adding some serious amps and subwoofers mounted behind the rear seat. But in the meantime with this small an enclosed area the existing system sounds pretty good!
