This is my 1963 EH Holden ute. Usually EH's were 1964 and EJ's were 63 but i've got the original purchase papers from november 1963 so this EH would have been one of first ones built. I've had it since around september 05. Alot of work and money and now its registered, but not finished in my eyes. I started it when i was 16 and now i am 20, not bad for a first car :D although i owe alot to my dad without him it wouldn't be anywhere near the car it is today.
Some quick info on it, runs a standard 186 with a yella terra head and has a HR disc brake front end. Has lowered springs in front end and has lowering blocks in the rear. Got a 2 inch exhaust running thru it with a chrome tip to make it look a little neater. Its slowly looking nicer but i am still a fair way off my ultimate goal. One great thing is that i never had to get a loan just paid for stuff as i got money so i own it no repayments :D

09/10/09: Received Showwheel Streeter Mags!
Now the thing that i find was really letting my car down is the wheels, sure hotwire mags might look tuff on a torana or something but not for my car. Would help if i polished them but they gonna need more help than that to look good. So I decided to purchase Showwheels Streeter mags for it. www.showwheels.com.au make the mags to suit all sorts of early cars great site to look for wheels if you're stuck on what wheels will fit your car. They can custom make the mags to suit my offset and everything. 17x7 on front and 17x8 on the rear. These wheels certainly turn heads!

This is 186 its running at the moment, gets me A to B however doesnt run great and is tired and worn out.

This is the engine i'm building for it, its another 186 however i'm rebuilding it so it should hopefully run a bit better and last longer. Whats done so far is; Bored and honed, new stage 1 cam, new cam bearings, crankshaft ground back and linished, new main bearings and conrod bearings, block acid bathed, new rings. The head is a yella terra head with double valve springs and has just been set up to run unleaded, new hardened valve seats, new valve guides, new valves, seals ect ect acid bathed aswell. I've got a new set of hydraulic lifters for it and new roller rockers also so should run sweet!

At the moment the gearbox i'm running is a 3 speed crashbox column shift not fully synchro, so i've decided i'm sick of all the whyning and crunching gears and i'm upgrading to a 4 speed M20 gearbox. I've just rebuilt one for it putting a kit thru it with new bearings and synchro rings and needle roller bearings ect. I also bought a new front input shaft and cluster gear to suit XU1 torana gear ratio's which i believe gives it more top end. And while i was at it i picked up a 3.08 ratio banjo diff for cheap so i've bought a kit to rebuild that for it so it should run almost like a new car :p got a new throwout bearing and clutch for it aswell.

I had the windows tinted on my ute on the 13-03-09 by Tintmaster they did a great job! My glass wasn't in great condition some scratches ect but its expected for an old car.

Another thing i've bought for my car is the hard ute lid/tonneau which i bought from www.nationalutelids.com.au although it doesn't say on there website that they make them for EH's but they do. Costs were fairly decent and they shipped it up to QLD in a wooden crate all safe and sound. Was definately worth it, doesnt move around, vibrate, rub or anything no damage to the paint and has nice foam lining where it sits on the edges of the tray. Fully lockable with two locks and apparently can come with remote locking(if i remember correctly). Has hydraulic struts and opens nicely and doean't fall on ya head :p you can see it in the pic above or below.

More recently i've bought a set of VS commodore bucket seats for comfort and they were a bit tricky to fit but got some brackets made up that allowed me to use the original mounting holes to bolt the bracket down then the seats mounted to the brackets. Its worked very well and looks nice. The pic isnt great didnt have much room to get a good shot.

The next thing i got done was the sound system. I bought an all Alpine system which included one Type X competition sub, Type X competition 6" splits speakers, 2 PDX show amps one for the speakers and one to power the sub, and a DVD flip out head unit with 7" pulsetouch screen. This was all installed professionally by Harlands Auto Electrics and they did a brilliant job, they made custom kick panels for the speakers and tweeters, custom sub box fibreglassed and mounted in the back of the ute with a chamber and ports going into the cabin for maximum bass, all waterproof. They fit my Amps to the back wall behind my seats and made it look all neat and tidy plus the Amps light up when turned on so they look pretty trick and they fit the head unit and did all the wiring and it all fits perfect doesn't look out of place at all. Gonna get customized dash pads to neaten up the dash and around the head unit.

These are the Type X splits                This is the PDX amp and sub port behind the seats

Amp and port again its identical on both sides        Awesome head unit sits perfect!

Now the sub you cant see because its in a box however i've got a pic of what the sub looks like:

They go hard thats for sure!

The next things that i would like to get done are to build a custom centre console, install power windows kit, get ute lid painted, fit the door trim finally lol, finish the carpet and build a floor for the tray. Then the major part will be engine/gearbox/diff transplant.
