My System Layout:

Below are some pics of my current set-up. Future upgrades include a fiberglass design. I know everyone has it, but I like the uniqueness and clean look. I will be sure to design something different.

As you can see, my system is pretty basic. Yeah, there is a lot of money put into this, but nothing out of the ordinary. By looking at my system diagram, the first question you may ask, "why multiple brands?" One thing I have learned, especially with modifying vehicles, is its a matter of preference. Some people are anal to the point where they need all of the same brand. Well, my system design was designed to best fit my needs, sound quality.
As many people would agree with me, Kicker have the best sounding bass, with a square subwoofer design, which pushes more air. They can handle a lot of power, but they may not be reasonably priced. However, with some research, and also owning a car audio retail business, I was able to pull some good deals.
Kenwood has a reputation with producing some of the best 6x9 speakers around. I chose them for my back deck, and then chose Diamond Audio components for the doors. The DA components sounded the best to me when I heard them, compared to 5 other sets of components.
The Boss headrest TVs were chosen because I couldn't find 4" headrest TVs anywhere. I wanted to utilize the stock headrest and custom install the TVs, so I chose the Boss 4" TVs.
Pioneer puts out excellent head units. I have always dealt with Pioneer, and will continue to purchase Pioneer head units. I didn't choose the top of the line AVIC model, because I simply don't need all the gadgets that come with it. The Corolla is a show vehicle, and I'm not in the car long enough to play with the headunits features. So, I chose a model in the middle, which provides me enough outputs/inputs I need to install my audio/video equipment.
I guess my entire point to this page is...you need to research on your own what you feel sounds better to you! For example, many people will make recommendations as to what THEY feel are the best sounding equipment, but when it comes down to it, their ears may hear something different then yours. Visit your local car audio/Best Buy/Circuit City store and listen for yourself. YOU choose what best fits your needs. You may save a few $$$ by simply going with your instinct, rather then listening to Billy Bob down the street who just spent his life savings on a head unit...LOL
Below is a link to a list of car audio box building programs. I have to admit, I never used the programs, but they seemed like pretty useful programs, so I decided to compile a page to make available to whoever could use them:

Here is a great source for wiring harnesses and diagrams ---> This link is specific for the 2003 Corolla. You can select your year/make/model for your ride.
Visit back soon, as I will try to add more car audio resources.
