This is my 1997 2WD Chevy Tahoe. It has grown into a project within the last couple months. Started out with a 3" Flowmaster from the 5.7L V8 to the rear, including a highflow cat and muffler. 20x9 ICE Metal 885 wheels were added. After the basics were done, we headed for the suspension. The front end includes 2" DJM drop spindles, 1" Belltech drop coils, and DJM nitro shocks. Dropped it 3" in the rear as well using the Belltech shackle and hanger kit, and then plumbed it with DJM air shocks.
It definetly changed the overall look of the vehicle, but it is not sitting on the frame. The ride height is perfect. I still clear speedbumps, and the handling is amazing.
I am currently looking for an application where i can C-notch the frame in the rear as well as airbags. I'm questioning the amount of space on the frame. Keep in mind i already have the shackle kit on there. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
As for the exterior, nothing to overdone. Removed the roof rack and side moldings. Just recieved an OEM smoothie bumper for the front (not pictured). The front end is still missing the billet grill. Replaced the side markers with clear corners, and added 99 Escalade tailights in the rear. I am still debating a roll pan in the rear. I'm looking at the possibilities considering I tow a wakeboard boat with this and i dont want to lose the hitch.
Well that is pretty much it. Check back for updates as we tear into the interior here in the near future.! Post comments & let me know what you think. Thanx
