Page 6 - March 2010 - Head gasket adventure The cooling system has been leaking for several months. Most notably it leaks heavily after the engine stops. Even after it sits overnight, the tank is still pressurized. The water pump finally started shreiking, most likely the bearing has been damaged from the poor state of the cooling situation. The conclusion seems to be imminent - the head gasket is probably blown. The hypothesis is that the leak from the combustion chamber is pushing into the coolant loop. 3/20/2010 - First up - compression test. Not necessarily conclusive, but certainly an indicator.141, 145, 130 ,138.....a little oil in 130 and it came up to 140. Not decisively a head gasket.....but the jury is stil out.
