Here are some pics of the Cattman header install on my 02 Maxima. For the most part I will try and post everything as before and after with brief descriptions.

L: Stock front header R: Cattman front header. Notice the Cattman's don't get covered by the heat shield. Also see that I routed the o2 sensor on the blue harness differently.

L: Here you can see the bank 1 front 02 sensor (blue harness). R: Instead of taking out the whole radiator, it's easiest to disconnect and lift just the fan shroud. Doing this is helpful for installing the front headers.

L: One of the rear o2 sensors and then.... R: no more (relocated just before resonator)

L: Cat, crossmember, and resonator. R: Here are the o2 bungs welded on between the resonator and cat. We put one on each side so that the o2 would be easy to take off if need be. What we didn't do right was angle them downward just a bit so they don't bang against the heat shield and floor.

L: Passenger side: this one bangs against the floor pan and causes a rattle in the low rpms. I'll be fixing that soon. R: Driver side: this one is close but I dont think it's causing me any trouble. They both work though, no engine codes.

L: Stock Y-pipe. R: Cattman Y-pipe (taken from opposite side)

L: The front header and pre-cat. For disassembly, it was easiest to disconnect everything instead of trying to snake it all out at the same time. R: The stock Y-pipe retiring. Notice we just used jack stands to lift the car.

L: This is a picture (from the ground up) of the front of the block with the stock header removed. R: In order to get to the rear header we had to unbolt and move the intake manifold. If you've ever changed your spark plugs this is an old hat to you. If not, just make sure you leave all the intake from the throttle body to the manifold intact. Disconnect any brackets or hoses that hold it down, and be sure to cover the block so nothing falls in (see the red rags?).

This is the rear header. You can see the small port on the middle runner has been plugged (left side of picture). This was the EGR port, but we cut and sealed it off using a small pipe plug since my car doesn't use the EGR port (03 Maximas shouldn't need it either). Just after the 3 runners merge, you can see the mounting for my EGT/Pyrometer probe. This will be helpful since I'm on the bottle. Closest to the mating flange on the backside of the header is the bung for the bank 2 front o2 sensor.

L: Cattman Y-pipe and flex section mating to cat. R: Y-pipe to front header.

L: Rear header and R: front header. On the rear header you can see the EGR port on the right, the EGT probe where the flash hit, and the o2 sensor on the left. Notice on both pics there are no heat shields, just beautiful headers!

These are some of the tools we used. We didn't use all of the sockets and there were many others not shown here.

I hope this helps or that you at least found it interesting!
