THE TRUNK HISTORY
first system consisted of
two pioneer 12" 800 watt subs
pushed by an old 4 channel mtx amp
next was the kickers
two 12" kicker L7.. 2006 series if im not mistaken
pushed by one kicker 1200.1 amp
then a friend came to me with this
JL Audio 13W7 - in the box that you see here
needless to say, this one sub outperformed the two kickers i had prior to this
not too long after, i got sick of that regular ported box. went to a friend over at elite audio and got some ideas on a custom trunk layout. the first timely modification on my car. was over a month long project.
i'll let the pictures speak for themselves
theres the port going thru to the rear deck. direct in-cab bass
dont get it twisted. the interior of this box is not a wood finish.
thats genuine ostrich skin
the original setup was to have the entire box illuminated in blue LED's
shortly there after, i changed that.
the 3/4" plexi was removed, brought to Prospect Plastics, a JL AUDIO logo was etched into the face.
the interior lights for the box were changed to white.
the blue lights were placed on the plexi face to illuminate the JL logo
sorry, i guess i dont have a good pic of that
the spare yellow top in the trunk
some say it aint safe, but heres the gasline redirected behind the taillight
the battery right there.
oh and i forgot to mention. i was pushin that sub off the kicker amp for a while.
til i got these!
this is when the speaker "seized". it had no movement or sound at all. took it out, brought it to mike @ audiologic in hollywood, fl. come to find out the speaker somehow blew. $350 repair
