I purchased this car in 1996 in need of complete restoration. The car has lived in New England all it's life, but surprisingly had very little rust as it's been in storage most of it's life. I spent about 3 years restoring the car and the photo here was taken in 1999.

This is a more recent photo of the car. As you can see, I have applied the factory "C" stripe which was an option included on my car. I verified this with the build sheet (yes, I struck gold and found it under the dash) and a Marti report.

Here is a shot of the engine compartment back in 1999 after I completed the original restoration.

After a few years and a couple thousand miles, the engine compartment doesn't look as fresh

I decided several months ago that I wanted to have some fun with my car by adding some real performance over the nearly stock drivetrain which included 302 4bbl (original cam), factory 3 speed manual transmission, 2.79:1 granny gears. I decided to replace this with a CHP built 347 stroker engine (rated at ~400 hp and 420 lbs tq at the FW) with an all roller valve train, more aggressive cam, AFR 185 heads and all the good stuff inside, Hooker Comp headers (ceramic coated), MSD ignition components and the list goes on. Also upgrading to a T5z 5 speed transmission, JMC hydraulic clutch and Ford Racing King Cobra cluth/pressure plate combo. Also planning to replace the "peg leg" rear with a Traction Loc with 3.73:1 gears. Here's a shot of the new 347 installed and in it's current state:

Very nice...I absolutely love a fastback that isn't an Eleanor clone! They used to be my very favorites until that blasted movie came out. Now I'm finding myself more attracted to the coupes. This one makes me remember why I loved them. Good job!!

That is a beautifull 68, my favourite body style of any Mustang. The Torque thrusts look good and I applaud you for staying with the nice clean lines of these cars! You don't see too many on the road in blue, which sets it apart as well!

That is a beautiful car. My dad used to have one, but sold it cheap before he knew what they were worth in the late 80's. Hold on to that thing man.
