I purchased this vehicle from a local Mazda dealership in 2000 as a previously leased vehicle with 49,000 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of her when she was unmodified, but I'm sure those in the Miata community recall the 1st-generation car in stock form.

Five years and the pink slip later, the car has become a weekend car, accumulating only 3,000 miles in the last 12 months. I have modified it for future track events, but have not ventured into the sport quite yet due to a busy work schedule. I constantly admire the beauty of this automobile and the joy it is to drive. She's not the quickest off the line, but the handling characteristics well make up for this shortfall. The car definitely belongs on the twisty backroads!

These pictures were taken in the fall of 2005, and show many of the modifications that I have invested in over the years. A complete list will follow this gallery.

Good looking Miata you have there, the Miata is a pretty good looking roadster. I remember pulling up to one of these in my Honda and getting smoked by it.. nice car

In contrast of what you have heard, the Miata is relatively inexpensive to insure, especially an older model that does not require collision and comprehensive. I'm sure it depends on your age and driving record, but I pay basic coverage on this car in the Greater Sacramento Area in California and spend roughly $35/mo. I've got a clean record and I'm over 30. When I first bought the car, I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that the full coverage for the '95 Miata was less than the same coverage for the '95 Tercel I was selling. Go figure.
