76 Pro Street Trans Am
This is my 76 Trans Am Pro Street car. I bought this car as an old stripped out forgotten drag car. The body was very solid being it was used only as a drag car since 1983. It was then stripped out and left for dead in 1995. I found it on E-Bay in 2001 and started to bring it back to life.
I also found out it is a 50th Anniverery Gold Edition. 1/319 made with 455/4 speed. To bad it got cut up. The only thing I got was the shell, no wiring, brake lines, gas line or anything.
I first started by striping down the under side of the car. I redid the rear frame using an S&W Race cars 4 link with a Super car rear setup with 4:56 Gears and disk brakes. Carrera Chrome Adjustable coil over shocks. I had a custom aluminum 15.8 gallon fuel cell built.

For the front suspension I used Jim Meyer Race Cars Tubular front control arms with Hal Corp adjustable coil overs.

As for the motor I originally installed a stroker 400 SBC with an Accell Super Ram Fuel Injection system on it. This motor was pushing around 600HP. Unfortunately the number 5 cylinder cracked flooding the cylinder with antifreeze breaking the piston. Ending it's life.

I now am running a new 454 complete with Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads, Full roller cam and gear drive. It has an 8-71 Supercharger with two 750 double pumper blower carbs. It's pushing 900HP.

The transmission is a TH400 Full manual w/ reverse valve body. It has a Denny's Drive Shafts Super Car drive shaft in it. Denny guaranties I can't break it. But I'm going to try.

The interior was all custom built by me. Mike built me a custom dash plate to house the Autometer gauges. I installed JMS racing seats with custom made seat covers. It also has a Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. And a 10 point roll cage.

The car rolls on 33x21.50 Mickey Thomson Tires with Weld 15x15 wheels in the rear and 26x7 up front.
I'll be posting up the pictures of the restoration work I have done so far.
