Rollbar cover fabrication
I could have just ordered from Bethania, but knowing that I wanted to pad the rollbar, their cover wouldn't fit. So I borrowed a friend's cover (from the Bethania folks) to get an idea on how the curves would fit tightly. I've seen some work where people used a long rectangular piece of vinyl and laced it to the bar, which looked great, except for the creases left by the excess material on the curve. To make the cover, you'll only need a yard of marine vinyl and upholstery thread. You'll also need access to a sewing machine. Total cost of materials was less than $10. However, total time to fabricate was around 4 hours, since I'm no seamstress and I had to redo my first attempt. I removed the race padding and replaced it with rubberized pipe insulation, partly because the race padding was too thick. Here are the results:
