My Van is not quite ready for the street. It is a 85 Chevy. 305 4 barrel. Trans Aire Conversion. I purchased it for $500. It doesn't run and the previous owner did not know what the problem was. He suspected timing chain. 167k miles. So he tore down to timing chain. Decided that it was ok and got frustrated trying to put the chain cover back on.
Body and interior are in great shape. Almost zero rust.
Here is some pictures that I took after I purchased the van. I saw it about 3 days before. I must say that I I probably could have looked at it alot longer. But it really does look clean for 20 years and Body really was great for that age rust wise. There is some serious work to be done soon though or the rust will infest. Old paint can be salvaged but I may paint it if I decide that this is the van to do. We shall see.

So I figure what the heck. He wanted $500. I was going to offer $400. But it was going to cost another $100 to tow it 30 miles to my house. I offered the guy the $500 if he would let me keep it there for at least 1 month to try to get it running. If I couldn't get it running I would move it anyway. He said that was cool and so we did the deal.
So i am going back over this weekend to drop the oilpan and replace the Gasket with I saw in this article.
No Leak

Then install a new Timing Chain Kit. It was a little loose. Could move it on one side about 1 inch. So I figure it may be the timing chain and if it isn't, then I won't have to worry about that again. Water pump is new, before the break down. Then I imagine I will go ahead and do the full Cap, Rotor and Wires. Plugs as well. And then I will see if it runs or not.
More Photos Soon
I have some more photos of the issues at hand. I will convert them soon so that they are more easily downloadable.
