1973 BMW 2002 BAUR TARGA
Here's a rare BMW 2002 Baur Targa, only a total of 1963 cars made during it's production from 1971-1975. Only a few are exisitng today worldwide. It was never available for sale in the US when it came out. I only know of a few cars that made it over here.
I brought this car from Germany and it was a pain after all the paper work, fees and headache it's all worth it.
It was orange, underneath was purple!! (crazy Germans!) when I got it. I dont even know what the original color was. All I know was that I couldn't stand orange, it stands out too much. I decided to go with Alpine white. I went to a couple of shops to get an estimate but they were all trying to rip me off, so I decided to do it myself. I'm not a pro but I though this would be a great project.
I was planning a complete bare metal strip but I noticed the paint was still good and would be a good base.

In summary, the paint job turned out pretty good. It's a lot better than what you would get from Mayco or Miracle and cost a lot less than a regular body shop. The trick is that you use top quality materials and a gravity feed HVLP gun.
