331 Stroker Build
I decided to build a 331 for this Mustang because I wanted reliable power without going too radical. Here's the specs:
Keith Black forged pistons, 9.75:1
Forged I beam rods with ARP bolts
Nodular iron crank
GT-40 Heads, ported, 1.6 roller rockers
TrickFlow Stage 1 cam
Accufab 65mm throttle body
24# fuel injectors
Genuine Cobra polished intake
I got the 331 short block primed. I painted the block with Aluminum paint and put ceramic clear coat on it. I was tired of the same old "Corporate Blue" or black.

Got the oil pump and pickup installed. Don't forget the tang on the oil pump shaft that keeps the shaft in place when removing the distributor!
Oil Pan before and after. Aluminum paint with clear coat.

I bought a set of GT-40 heads with 1.6 roller rockers on Ebay for a good price. I hand-lapped the valves and replaced the stem seals. You can see the Aluminum paint and clear coat.

Comp Cams Timing chain and TrickFlow Stage 1 Cam installed
Stewart Performance aluminum waterpump painted
