Been running for a few weeks, not much done yet. Have to source a carb and an AC compressor, maybe.

October 18, 2005:

Have had this car for about a week. Still replacing all the worn rubber and electricals in the engine bay. Not much to report yet.

It's a fun little item. The steering is manual, and pretty vague, but body roll is nearly nil and the weight balance makes the car spin lightly on its short wheelbase. There aren't any mods in the pipeline yet, but I'm thinking of going IHE as soon as the bugs are ironed out. Since this is a work car, I'm not going to do much to it... yet.

October 19, 2005:

Engine runs well, but smokes a bit. Seems I might have a valve seal problem or a blown piston ring. The engine might have been running a bit lean during the time the carb was all choked up, so I'm pulling it down and giving it the once over, just in case.

October 20, 2005:

Have the top off. Car is definitely drinking oil. Seems the only thing holding the seals in place was the gummy old oil in the engine. Putting in nice new stuff uncovered the leaks. Oh well, was going to do this sometime anyway, but it's a pain in the ass.

OCtober 24, 2005:

Still waiting for the engine, just paid for the overhaul. :(
