Bought: Aug, 2005
This is my 1999 Mercury Cougar V6 mtx. Before (when I first got it) and now.
So a little about the car, I got it at the end of Augest of 2005. I was looking at a few other cars after my LeMans blew it's tranny. I was looking at a Focus sedan before this but timing wasn't right. My brother told me a family friend was trying to get rid of their Cougar so I picked it up. I fell in love with it right away, it had everything I wanted and more. When I got her it was 100% stock, not even tint. It had fairly low milage as well 64,000km. Now when ever I see the previous owners they always tell me how they miss that car, and are happy I keep it in good shape.. well baby it.
Little about me: I'm 23 years old loved car's ever since I can remember but haven't worked on them much until I got my LeMans which was just some minor TLC stuff. I'm a second year Paramedic student so modifying car's isn't exactily easy when tuition is there kicking my butt every semester. So no, I don't have mommy or daddy paying for anything I wouldn't want them to. Everything I have done to the Cougar is from my pocket with my blood and sweat. Other then that enjoy! Write in the guest book if you love it or hate it, it may give me some ideas.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I got asked if I did the 2.5L SVT swap into my Cougar because of all the black by a couple random NECO members.
Now, the more I look at your car the I think of how amazing your engine could look in silver. Like, maybe get your valve covers, timing cover, and UIM powdercoated silver. Or get the UIM chromed or something (I don't recommend polishing it, trust me, lmao). Then pick an accent color like red, blue, green, yada yada. To do like wire looms if you want to get crazy and vaccuume line covers in an accent color. Your car is amazing though. Simple, retarded clean, and understated. A WW or Roush would be all that I would do to it cosmetically. Or maybe a Kaminari hood too, lol. I've always said though, black looks amazing on silver and silver looks great on black. If my Cougar was black I'd have a silver engine.
In time all dedicated NECO members will probably have 3Ls in their Cougars, lol. Thankfully almost everything we do to our 2.5s swap right over! Lol. Sorry for the novel here.
