This is my UK Escort RS Turbo.It is a 1.6 ltr injection turbo,standard equipment includes-Front+Rear heated screens.electric windows & side mirrors.Sunroof.Recaro seats.color coded bodykit,bumpers,mirrors & rear spoiler.5 speed FWD gearbox with Limited Slip Differential.Mechanical Anti-Lock Braking System.Front+Rear Anti-roll bars
This is a cut away view of the UK 1.6 CVH Injection Turbo Motor as fitted to my car,The Engine has Bosch KE Jetronic Fuel injection with a Garrett T3 Turbo+Intercooler. The Turbo is also water cooled.The engine in standard form produces 132bhp@5750rpm and 133lb/ft of torque @2750rpm.
My Engine has been totally stripped & overhauled & also modified with the following-Block-Overbored & fitted with Mahl pistons,lightened & balanced crank+flywheel,high cap oil pump,Stage 2 Cylinder head with Piper 285T2 cam kit(Uprated srings,followers+high lift turbo cam)The cam timing is kept in check by a uprated cam belt with a Piper Vernier adjustable pulley.The injection system is the standard Bosch item but has been re-chipped and uprated injectors have been fitted,it all breathes in through a K&N 57i conical induction kit.The Turbo is modified(Hybrid)Garrett T3 unit fitted with 360 degree bearings & uprated -31 wastgate actuator
Also I sanded back the standard alloy engine castings and mirror polished them adding a polished stainless steel header tank & Pace 4 core Intercooler & Pace Alloy Radiator.The exhaust is a Mongoose complete Stainless Steel System with an outwardly rolled 3"/80mm tailpipe.Inside I have also added a Pillar Mounted Boost Gauge Pod to keep an eye on my Turbo condition !!
The UK Version of the Ford Escort is Totally different in shape to your US one! The Suspension is Koni 14 point adjustable gas shocks with -1"/25mm Jamex coil springs I have also fitted polyurethane bushes to all the suspension & Front+Rear Anti-roll bars.The brakes have been uprated by fitting Goodridge Stainless overbraided brake pipes & the addition of Brembo Drilled+Grooved Vented Discs & Brembo Fast Road brake pads
The Wheels are 7x15"Kahn RVR Alloys with Yokohama 195/50x15 A510 Tyres.Inside I have retained the standrd equipment Recaro seats but added MOMO Steering Wheel,Gearknob & Pedals.The dashboard dials have also been replaced with White Items.The Sounds are supplied by a Kenwood Mask headunit,10 disc CD changer 2xKenwood tweeters,2xKenwood Mid-Range in the Front & 2xKenwood tweeters,2xKenwood Mid-Range,2xKenwood 12" Sealed Box Subs in the Rear.The Front speakers are Driven by a Kenwood 4x80watt Amp,The Rear Tweeters & Mids are Driven by a Kenwood 4x100watt Amp & the Subs are Driven by a Kenwood 2x500watt Performance Series Amplifier with a Phoenix Gold Power Capacitor,The Leads Fuses & Wiring Connectors are also Phoenix Gold.
