This is the 1980 Pontiac Phoenix. This car was introduced in the late 1970's along with it's sister cars, the Chevrolet Citation, Buick Skylark, and Olmobile Omega. They classed these cars as the "X-Body" cars. These cars were introduced because of the "Gas Crisis" of the late '70's. Unfortunately, they got a bad name. They were said to be "Junk". Well, with a total new concept of design and economy, these cars were driven in the same manner as the common gas guzzler tanks of the previous years. These new cars with transverse mounted engines could not handle the abuse, thus broke them down quicker. This Pontiac Phoenix seen here in these photos has been well cared for over the years. It is structurally sound and straight as an arrow. Though the car was in fairly good condition, I decided to keep the car for a restoration project. It has been quite a challenge because the car is near extinction and parts are hard to find. Check it out!
