Mopars of Brevard Super Show and Swap VIII
10 Dakotas (9 Dakota R/Ts) and one Durango came from all over the state just for the show.
These next 4 pictures are of what my truck looked like when I bought it; pretty much completely stock and not very exciting to look at. Sitting too high, pin-striped, no tonneau, factory mirrors, no color matched parts, stock hood, stock rear bumper, all factory lights, and no go fast goodies.
The factory pinstripes came off while driving through the remnants of hurricane Francis. Ironically I was talking about peeling them off anyway not knowing that they were already peeling as I was speaking.
These are some older pics from 1-28-2006
Before the roll pan, mirrors, painted tonneau, decals were removed, led 3rd brake light, headlights and corner lights, and the newer tail lights. I took off these altezzas because they didnt look right on it after the roll pan because they actually stuck out and were too 3D.
When I got rear-ended for the first time. Got hit on I-95 when traffic braked hard in front of me, I did the same, and the guy behind me hit me hard. He was with 4 other guys (yes 5 total) in a 1995 two door honda civic. It wasn't their car, he didnt have a license, they were from Georgia and heading home, and they weren't insured to drive it. We were doing 80 and when he hit me I had already slowed to 45 mph and when he looked up he hit me still doing 80. Both back fenders got dinged by the bumper and the bed shifted and dinged the back of the cab.
When I got rear-ended the second time about a year and a half later. Not nearly as bad as the first. Although the left fender still got dinged by the bumper. The roads were slick from a light rain. Doing 50 mph on SR-50. An ambulance had to cross the highway, the guy in front of me braked hard, I did the same and kept the wheels from locking up. I was probably at a complete stop for atleast 5 seconds before I heard skidding tires and then it hit. It was a 2005 Nissan Maxima, driven by a 93 year old man. He didn't seem to be able to see very well. The thing probably only hit me doing about 8 mph. Only a gouge in its front bumper. I felt bad for the poor guy because they probably took his license away or dropped him from his insurance after that.
When I was fitting the roll pan
Just for fun. What it would look like with the door handles, fuel door, and V8 emblem shaved, dropped on bags, and the 20" R/T replica wheels. I dont think I would ever do this, I need to use it for a truck and that is a lot of money Id rather throw into performance.
A lot of people ask me what R/T stands for. I always reply, "Really Thirsty." In reality though it is the classic term "Road/Track."
So what makes an R/T, an R/T?
